Tom Cruise is back and his missions are once again branded as “impossible.” Despite the star’s age at 52 — and he’s definitely not getting any younger — the MI franchise seems to be escalating its stunts and actions with each new addition to the franchise.
In the trailer for its fifth installment, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, we can see Cruise hanging on to the side of a flying airplane. Moreover, Cruise was reportedly trained to hold his breath for longer than six minutes in order to create an underwater sequence without cuts. We’re eager to see whether the over the top action in Rogue Nation will ever shake off the cable drop scene in the first Mission: Impossible, which has become an icon in cinematic history so deeply rooted in everyone’s mind despite it being more than 20 years ago.
Rogue Nation will hit theaters July 31.
