“The Late Show” Open Director’s Cut
2022-03-30T15:21:29+09:00

See NYC like you've never seen before in the extended director’s cut for The Late Show opening sequence.

Sometimes, you just need a different perspective to appreciate something. This was especially true when Stephen Colbert took over The Late Show from David Letterman, and what better way to show off the city that hosts the show than to literally offer a new perspective of New York. The opening sequence for the show, directed by Filmmaker Fernando Livschitz, makes use of tilt-shift photography to simulate a miniature New York City from various parts of the city. This new ‘director’s cut’ offers an extended look at some of the scenes used for the opening sequence.

Those familiar with New York’s iconic skyline will instantly recognize many of the landmarks and buildings, but will be amazed at the new perspective it offers. For those that aren’t, the video is like a cheat-sheet that showcases everything that makes New York one of the greatest cities in the world.

Enjoy.
